Whether it's a big trade show or the fair your town holds every year, putting up the stand is the easy part. What actually helps is a handful of simple things, most of them digital.
Before the fair: being easy to find
Before people come over to the stand, almost everyone checks their phone first. Worth reviewing, the week before:
- Google Business Profile. Correct hours, phone number and address. If you're closed or on different hours those days, set it as special hours.
- Website. The page for the service you'll be talking about at the fair needs to exist and read well on a phone.
- Social media. The last post shouldn't be from months ago.
The extra comfort: everyday technology
Nothing complicated, just a few conveniences worth setting up:
- Ease of use: a way for people to leave their details that isn't a card that gets lost, like a short form or a WhatsApp message already written out.
- Social media: one post on opening day and a couple of stories with the stand full of people, not much more.
- A web itinerary: a simple page with the times and where to find you, for anyone who wants to check before or during the fair.
- QR code: on the stand, pointing straight to that page or to a contact form.
- Among others: something physical with your name and a short web address, and a few photos of the stand for the following weeks.
After the fair
This is the part almost nobody does, and it's what decides whether it was worth it: get the contacts into a list that same Monday and write to each one referring to what you actually talked about.
If you'd like us to set all of this up for you (profile, page, QR code and the follow up afterwards) as part of digital strategy, get in touch before the fair starts.
